Clip 1 – 19 April 2019 - Law 18

Warrick Gelant of the Bulls kicks the ball a long way downfield. Jade Stighling races downfield as Hamish Stewart, the Reds' fullback, races across the field. Stewart wins the race.

He dives at the ball and knocks it into touch. That means that the Bulls will get the throw-in. Stighling goes to get the ball, presumably to consider throwing in quickly. Stewart grabs the ball, walks away with it and then rolls it back past Stighling. The referee penalises Stewart.

Law 18.3 QUICK THROW
A player who carries the ball into touch must release the ball immediately so that a quick throw may be taken.
Sanction: Penalty.
