Why You chose to become a referee:
I picked up a serious injury while I was a Piet Retief club rugby player. Then a school friend (Janneman Roberts) invited me to join him as at Northern Natal referee Sub society (Lammergeier).

Advice for new recruits:
Keep your feet on the ground and focus on your goals. Work to be better than yesterday.
Did you know?
My first sub-society meeting in Northern KZN where I did the referee fitness test, the Chairman Mr Gerrie Nel laid the foundation when he spoke the following words of life into my career: "Young man, rugby will take you to places. Continue to work hard."
